Obituary: Floyd P. Howell - Floyd P. Howell, the son of Parshall and
Sarah [Torrey] Howell, was born February 16, 1863 in Iosco Township,
Livingston County, Michigan, and passed away in Weberville on
Thursday, January 17, 1946.
He received his education in the district school and the Howell High
School.
On March 20, 1884, he was united in marriage with Lucy A. Mapes in
Stockbridge, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Howell first settled in Ingham
County, and then in Iosco Township, Livingston County. In 1906, they
began residence in the vicinity of Howell, which continued until 1937
when they moved to Howell. They celebrated their golden wedding
anniversary on March 20, 1934. Mrs. Howell passed away on August 13,
1936.
Mr. Howell was united in marriage on September 27, 1940 with Mrs. Emma
King of Webberville, where they continued to make their home.
Mr. Howell was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Howell
having united with the church on March 15, 1913.
Besides Mrs. Howell, he leaves one daughter and three sons: M. Effie
Hibler [Mrs. Henry Hibler of Howell]; Rice A. Howell of Birmingham; F.
Emmett Howell of Fowerville; Leo P. Howell of Oscola Township. He
leaves eleven grandchildren, 3 others having preceeded him in death.
There are also nine great grandchildren.
Funeral sevices were held on Sunday afternoon, January 20, at 5:30 at
the McDonald Funeral Home of Howell and were addressed by Dr. Hersey
M. Nebbs, Minister of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial followed
in the mosaleum at the Lakeview Cemetery.
