Edward1 Harnett (or d) and family were at Salem, Mass., in 1640, and later suffered for harboring Quakers.

  Edward2 m. came to Huntington, L. I., with wife
    Elisabeth. (dau. of Jonathan and Eunice Porter),
    children probably:
  Jonathan, who was in Huntington in 1672, and
    others; supposed children of Jonathan were:
  Jonathan in 1714, brother-in-law to Elias Cornelius,
    whose wife was Sarah? Harned in 1700.
The Harned family increased and in 1816, Mary, wife of Jacob Harned requested to become a member of Jericho monthly meeting
