Individual Note: Eugene V. Brewster, as a photographer, was affiliated with the Brooklyn Institute, where he participated in the Eighteenth Annual Exhibition of Pictorial Photographs in April, 1908. Brewster was also an artist, publisher and movie director.
The fan magazine had its inception in 1909 when Eugene V. Brewster launched Motion Picture Stories, later renamed Motion Picture Magazine.
Official Rule of the Day: Brewster's Exception: Every rule has its exceptions except this one: A man must always be present when he is being shaved. (Eugene V. Brewster, from his 1925 work, The Wisdom of the Ages.)

The trial of young Francis Hawkins for murder ended at Riverhead, Long Island, yesterday, and the jury rendered a verdict of guilty of murder in the first degree. The prisoner accepted the verdict with the greatest equanimity
