Individual Note:
     Eugene V. Brewster, as a photographer, was affiliated with the Brooklyn Institute, where he participated in the Eighteenth Annual Exhibition of Pictorial Photographs in April, 1908. Brewster was also an artist, publisher and movie director.

The fan magazine had its inception in 1909 when Eugene V. Brewster launched Motion Picture Stories, later renamed Motion Picture Magazine.

Official Rule of the Day: Brewster's Exception: Every rule has its exceptions except this one: A man must always be present when he is being shaved. (Eugene V. Brewster, from his 1925 work, The Wisdom of the Ages.)

It was pouring rain at Riverhead, Long Island, yesterday morning, when Francis Asbury Hawkins was hanged for the murder of his mother, Mrs. Cynthia Hawkins, on Oct. 2 of last year.
