Other Information: Per Herbert Hale, Town Historian, 1961: 'Located between Littleworth Lane and Franklin Ave., west of the School, in Sea Cliff, entrance from Brengel Place. 'The cemetery used by the Carpenter family whose ancestors were the original purchasers of the Mosketo Cove Patent. The cemetery was laid out in 1855 and the first headstone is dated 1861. For a short time the cemetery was under the control of the Carpenter Memorial Church of Glen Cove, but returned to the control of the Carpenter family. It is still in use...' - subquote from Guide to Historic Tour, Diamond Jubilee of Sea Cliff (1958). Thomas Dunham Carpenter, son of Coles and Martha Carpenter, b.Aug 20,1838 murdered at sea Nov  1886. This stone is all the way in back row on the  right .
Stone is very faded.

Several granite stones ,too heavy to move, had fallen on their faces and were accordingly not copied.
