The Griffin(g) Family of Long Island

NOTE:  Bartlett Griffing moved to Brooklyn and had a family while rising to some local importance.  He was born Abt. 1803 in Riverhead, Suffolk Co., LI, NY and died April 16, 1874 in Brooklyn and was buried in Upper Aquebogue.  His parents were Bartlett Griffing and Mehitable Terry.  Anyone with addirional information on his line would be appreciated.

NOTE Regarding the Long Island Griffing families - The Griffings were lawyers, judges town supervisors and hotel owners. Nathaniel Bryon Griffing known as Bryon Griffing was town supervisor for Shelter Island for years and is covered in Portraits of Suffolk County.  The Shelter Island line starts with Daniel Griffing born March 15, 1729/30 Methuen, Essex Co, MA married Rachael Eaton.  There son Moses is the end of the Shelter Island Island line.  The Jasper Griffing line may be connected but as of now I have not been able to prove a link.
