Located in the Long Swamp area of South Huntington, the Smith Cemetery on Lenox Road, was inventoried by Mrs. Nellie R. Scudder and can be found on pages 1506 - 1507 of her "Scudder Collection of Long Island Genealogical Records," available at the Huntington Historical Society or on L. D. S. microfilm. The following data was collected during a site visit by the submitter, David Roberts, about 1980. At the time, many of the stones were broken or shattered. This cemetery is now a Town of Huntington Local Historic Site.

Material included in these brackets [ ] was added by the submitter mainly from his printed "Deaths Reported by the 'Long Islander' 1878 - 1890 " or his "Deaths Reported by the 'Long Islander' 1891-1900" which is available on-line at this site. Other sources may have been cited also.
