The Jacob Conklin "Pirate House" (1710-1918)
The Jacob Conklin house was the first dwelling built in the area that would later be known as Wheatley Heights and Wyandanch. Before being destroyed by fire it stood for 208 years at the southernmost foot of Half Hollow Hills, in Huntington, then Babylon, Towns.

The Conklin House was built abt 1750 and is a farmhouse which reflects the changes that were often made in homes as they were adapted to meet the family's changing needs. Inhabited until 1911, it is maintained by the Huntington Historical Society as a museum of local history and the decorative arts. ![]()
