Note Concerning Orlando Hubbs
received Jan 23, 2008 from JoanWDrake@aol.com Joan W. Drake, Washington, DC -

Orlando Hubbs, Pg. 98, as a Member of Congress; a leader in the Republican Party, he served in the 47th Congress representing the Eastern District of North Carolina; he later returned to Commack and served in the NY State Assembly & later as a NY State Senator. He was the brother of my great grandmother Lavinia Hubbs Hiler, wife of John Gideon Hiler, and of Mary Smith, wife of Andrew Smith -- both of whom are also buried in the Commack Cemetery. I believe their brother Ethelbert Hubbs and his wife Lottie are also buried in the Commack Cemetery. Yours truly, Joan W. Drake, Washington, DC
