HOPKINS CEMETERY
The following information is taken from a notebook compiled by Selah H. Tooker in 1940. Names, dates, and comments are his. Some comments are by Charles T. Davis.

This was the original Hopkins burying ground. Those buried there were moved to the cemetery behind the Mount Sinai Congregational Church known as Sea View Cemetery. They ware moved by Samuel Hopkins (1781-1866) about 18 and placed in the north west corner of the old section. They were all brown stones.
There is an old tradition that Joseph Davis (about 1645-1691), son of Foulk Davis (1615-1687) was buried by the "Witch Rock." As this burying ground is only a few hundred feet from the site of that rock it is quite possible that he is buried there.
There are also several other natural stones there as grave markers. Some have traces of inscription that are not decipherable and others have no marks at all.
