Graveyards with two graves

Graves on south side of Moriches Road between Harbor Hill Road and Highland Avenue on Winthrop Taylor property.

1. Mr. Matthew Smith, died January 11, 1b23 in 66th year.

2. Sarah, wife of Matthew Smith, died May 19, 1840 in 69th year. This graveyard contains two stones for Matthew Smith and his wife, Sarah. There are probably many more graves in this cemetery that are unmarked. We know that Leonard, Matthew's son, was buried here in 1841 and his grave is unmarked.

Two children of Clarence M. Smith were buried here, Samuel Norman in 1922 and Henry Lawrence in 1925. Clarence thought they were still buried here, but Frank Oakes told me that Clarence's father, C. Melville Smith had Frank remove the two children to his plot in the Episcopal graveyard.

Graves on knoll near Leffert's barn.

3. William Smith, died January 4, 1837 in 82nd year.
4. Sarah, wife of William Smith (widow of Isaac Carman), died April 28, 1833 in her 46th year.
